WHO: Local Cleveland author Sarah Goehrke, joined in conversation with local Ohio author Chelsea Banning
WHY: Because you’re awesome, like epic fantasy books, and/or want cake and an excuse to wear a crown

The matriarchal world of The Keepers is ruled by queens and home to witches whose magic is not trusted—let’s celebrate both!
Come in costume, wearing your favorite cloak to show your coven affiliation or a crown to stand with the queens (and, come on, who doesn’t need an excuse to wear a crown?)
Best of each costume (one witch, one royal) will win themed prizes from The Keepers!
1pm: Mix and mingle with witches, queens, and readers — enjoy snacks, cake, and iced tea
1.30pm: Author Sarah Goehrke will be joined in conversation with Ohio author Chelsea Banning to talk about The Keepers, book one of the larger Turners Saga, and the creation of a matriarchal world of magic and politics; publishing with a small press; cats; and more!
2.15pm: Costume contest winners announced! Best crown/queen costume and best coven/witch ensemble will each win prizes! Additional giveaways will include art prints with stunning character art by Kristina Gehrmann.
2.30-3pm, Sarah will be available to sign books and talk with readers
Conversation partner Chelsea Banning is a long-time personal friend of Sarah’s, back from the days they worked together on cast at the medieval faire as Lady Isolde (Chelsea) and Lady Morgana Le Fey (Sarah).
Chelsea is the bestselling indie author of The Fight for Camelot trilogy: currently available (including at the Viridian!) are books one (OF CROWNS AND LEGENDS) and two (OF REALMS AND FATE).
